DAY 1: ISTANBUL

Welcome to Turkey!  Make your own way to the hotel, where you will meet your tour leader and your travelling companions.  Overnight - Istanbul.


DAY 2: GALLIPOLI

Breakfast. We're up bright an early today so that we can head west along the coast of the turquoise Sea of Marmara.  The afternoon is free for you to take an optional tour of the Gallipoli Battlefields taking in Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair and other memorials, the trenches and of course – ANZAC Cove.  Or if you prefer you can explore the seaside town of Canakkale.  Overnight Canakkale

DAY 3: TROY, PERGAMUM, KUSADASI

Breakfast. After breakfast we head South down the beautiful Aegean Coast.  On the way we stop at the ancient city of Troy for a guided tour of this fascinating and historical town.  There is also the chance to check out the well preserved Roman ruins in the magnificent antique site of Pergamum before heading to the resort town of Kusadasi.  Overnight Kusadasi.

DAY 4: ANCIENT CITY OF EPHESUS

Breakfast. We visit the various temples, amphitheatres and ancient buildings of Ephesus, the best-preserved ancient city in Turkey.  Check out one of the Seven Ancient Wonders of the World, the fascinating Temple of Artemis.  In the afternoon you can visit the site believed to have been the last home of the Virgin Mary, and taste fruit wines at Sirince,   After that take a well deserved rest and chill out on a beautiful Aegean Beach.  Overnight Kusadasi.

DAY 5: PAMUKKALE

Breakfast. Today we have a relaxed start and make our way to Pamukkale and the ancient spa town of Hierapolis to admire this otherworldly landscape. Bring your swimming gear if you are planning to have a dip in the therapeutic hot springs if not just have a lazy paddle instead!  Overnight Pamukkale or Egirdir.

DAY 6: SILK ROAD

Breakfast.  We trace the footsteps of the ancient silk route trade across the Anatolian Plain.  Like the ancient traders, we stop off at the Sultanhani Caravanserai - a huge and impressive fortress like building that was actually used as a hotel by those following the silk route.  Tonight it's time for some partying - Turkish style - as you have the option of going to a Turkish folklore evening, which includes all he food and drink you can manage!  Overnight Cappadocia.

DAY 7: CAPPADOCIA

Breakfast.  This morning you have the option to fly over the fantastic scenery of Cappadocia in a hot air balloon.  Then you can take an optional tour around the Southern parts of Cappadocia.  Whatever you choose to do, this region will fill you with wonderment as you explore carved cave villages, underground cities, spectacular coloured valleys and fairy chimney formations.  Overnight Cappadocia.

DAY 8: ANKARA

Breakfast.  Today we are up bright and early as we make our way back to Istanbul, via Ankara, the nations Capital.  We stop off at an impressive salt lake, and then have time to visit the Mausoleum of the famous Mustafa Kemal Atatürk - founder of the Turkish Republic and its first President.  Here we can discover wheat happened to the Turkish nation after the ANZACs left.  Overnight Istanbul.

 

DAY 9: ISTANBUL

Breakfast.  Our trip ends after breakfast.
