La Tomatina Hostel Package - 4 Days

The La Tomatina festival certainly gives new meaning to the expression 'playing with your food'! For most of the year Bunol is a sleepy little ho-hum industrial town just 25 miles outside of Valencia! But come the last Wednesday of August, right at the peak of tomato season, suddenly the town's streets turns into a salsa riot, with over 20,000 revellers pelting each other with large, red, squishy tomatoes. Crazy, or what? Our sociable and centrally located hostel has multi share rooms, communal unisex bathrooms, a kitchen and great views from the roof terrace!

LA TOMATINA HOSTEL PACKAGE - 4 DAYS / 3 NIGHTS 2011

Day 1 Monday 27th August 2012
After making your way to Valencia please head to your allocated city centre hostel any time from 3pm onwards where you will be able to check into your allocated rooms. The group is invited to get together tonight for a festival briefing before we head to our welcome party at a bar in the historic old town centre and sample the famous Valencian nightlife. Welcome to Spain!

Day 2 Tuesday 28th August 2012
Today you have the entire day free to get out and explore the fabulous city of Valencia whether it is in the old town, the world-class aquarium and city of Arts and Sciences, or out at the fabulous beaches. Your tour leaders will be on hand this morning to help plan your exciting day!

In the evening we offer an optional excursion where you have the chance to travel out to one of Valencia 's surrounding villages and partake in an all night wine and water festival. This event is one of the highlights of the tour and an amazing experience. The group leaves at 8pm and returns at 4am back to Valencia in order to prepare for La Tomatina. Sounds like a long night but all our passengers of the past have absolutely loved it and even rated it above the experience of La Tomatina!

Day 3 Wednesday 29th August 2012
La Tomatina Festival: Today is the reason we are here in Spain so after an early start we will transfer to Bunol for the world famous 'La Tomatina' tomato fight! The preparations start in the early morning and by midday it's time for the festivities to start. The tomato fight lasts for one hour and is an experience you will never forget. After the tomato fight has concluded we spend some time in Bunol cleaning ourselves off before transferring by charter coach back to our hostel in Valencia. After a long shower we will join together at a local bar to compare stories from this amazing day.

Day 4 Thursday 30th August 2012
A slow start to the day today as we continue the long process of removing every last piece of tomato from ourselves! Today you have free time to explore more of Valencia or perhaps head out to the beach. Check-out of the hostel is 10am which ends our accommodation package. Happy travelling!

Wine and Water night - a trip to a local village where you parade through the streets with the various marching bands, getting free wine from massive tankards and trying to avoid the water being thrown out the windows! Tuesday 28th August.
City Bike Tour - what better way to see beautiful Valencia than from a bicycle with the wind streaming in your hair! Tuesday 28th August.
City Walking Tour - Prefer to save those thigh muscles and walk around the city? - this option is for you! Tuesday 28th August
Sunset Booze Cruise - Spend a relaxing and alcohol fuelled evening watching the sun set over Valencia. Includes 2 hours sailing around the Valencian harbour, beer, wine and soft drinks. Wednesday 29th August.
