DAY 1: ISTANBUL
Sunday 22 April 2012. Welcome to Turkey! Upon arrival you will have the choice to join our shuttle service to your hotel. The rest of the day is then yours to do as you please with in this amazing city with its European, Middle Eastern and Asian influences. Overnight Istanbul
DAY 2: THE OLD CITY
Breakfast. Today we enjoy a guided city tour of the old city of Istanbul - Sultanhmet, taking in the famed Blue Mosque, the magnificent Hagia Sofia, the Roman Hippodrome and more. Then in the afternon enjoy a relaxing boat cruise/ferry on the Bosphorous, the stretch of water that seperates European Istanbul from Asian Istanbul. Overnight - Istanbul
DAY 3: GALLIPOLI
Breakfast. Early this morning departure to Gallipoli. A very early departure to the WW1 battlefields on Gallipoli Peninsular. This afternoon we will enjoy a guided tour (subject to timing and traffic conditions) of the evocative war memorials that dot the region from Lone Pine, Chunuk Bair, Johnston’s Jolly, the trenches and Kabatepe - the modest ANZAC museum you will be awed at what is considered the World's best preserved battlefields. Early this evening, we’ll relax at our exclusive ANZAC Eve Turkish BBQ before later taking our places amongst the many at the Dawn Service site for the atmosphere charged ANZAC Eve vigil. Now is the ideal time to sort a vantage spot on the grass or tiered seating, then take in the loaded atmosphere as the legendary wait for first light commences. DAY 4: ANZAC DAY
Awake before sunrise to the Anzac Dawn service and commemorate our fallen fore fathers on this special day. The Gallipoli battlefields are well sign posted so you can walk amidst the various cemeteries, trenches and memorials on your way to Lone Pine and Chunuk Bair to attend the Australian, Turkish and New Zealand memorial services. Late afternoon we head to the small town of Ayvalik for dinner and some well deserved sleep. Overnight Ayvalik
DAY 5: ROMAN PERGAMUM
Breakfast. This morning we head south along the Aegean Coast to the ancient city of Pergamum where you'll enjoy a guided tour of the stunning Roman ruins before we travel on to the pretty coastal town of Kusadasi. Dinner and overnight Kusadasi.
DAY 6: EPHESUS & PAMUKKALE
Breakfast. Today there is an optional guided tour of the legendary Roman ruins of Ephesus, the former capital of Roman Asia and best preserved ancient city in Turkey. Also view one of the Seven Ancient Wonders, the great Temple of Artemis. After a short visit to a leather factory we will continue on to Pamukkale, famous for its cascading mineral rich thermal pools. Why not take a dip in the rejuvenating waters. Dinner and overnight Pamukkale .
DAY 7: PAMUKKALE TO ISTANBUL
Breakfast. After checking out some Turkish carpets en-route we continue back to Istanbul arriving late evening. Overnight Istanbul.
DAY 8: ISTANBUL
Sunday 29th April 2012. Today after breakfast and hotel checkout our hotel arrangements come to an end. We hope you have enjoyed your Anzac and Turkey experience. Opt to travel over to Egypt today and start of Egypain Express or Pyramids & Beaches tour!
